The brief for this project was to create a publication that visits death. I chose to create a fold out map and accompanying booklet based on the description of the ancient Greek underworld in book 6 of Homer’s “The Aeneid”. As this book was the inspiration, it was included as an accompanying booklet with the map, highlighting the areas in the text I drew inspiration from.

The shape of the land was based on chopped and changed real world land masses, as this kept the shapes organic looking. The icons and cover images were based off ancient Greek statues and busts, shown in silhouette.
