The brief for this project was to create a 3D logo and I really wanted to push the limits of what I could do in the 3D world of After Effects on this one. The idea of a crypto-coin came to me early and I knew I wanted to try make it look like a metal coin with light reflecting. I created the logo in Illustrator, then brought it into After Effects.

Working with materials and lighting in this way was a challenge initially, but it was great to push through and really get to grips with it. I have included an early iteration below to show where I was starting off with this project, compared to where it ended up. I was really pleased with how the finished piece came out, and can happily say I conquered lighting in After Effects.
