Where The Wild Geese Go *
This website was created to accompany a thirteen part documentary series by EZ Films called “Where the Wild Geese Go” which tracked brent geese from Ireland, Iceland, Greenland and Canada.
The documentary was a mix of video and animation, and I was provided some amazing assets to work with. The team at EZ Films really wanted the website to have the feeling of actually live tracking the geese - even though it didn’t. I worked closely with the developers to come up with something that would be dynamic and engaging, without actually live tracking any birds.
I did research into flight trackers and live tracking software as my starting point and began to build out the site from there. All assets were provided, UX/UI completed by me.

I started my research by looking into flight tracking websites and seeing what real time live tracking looked like.
While the site wasn’t going to have any actual live tracking on it, it was important to the team in EZ films that this looked like the site was live tracking the geese.
Early iterations of the landing page based on my initial research.
The final landing page!
While the tablet version of the landing page retained the live tracker feel with the gif and the radar - I chose to remove this on mobile.
This allowed the mobile version to still present the key information without anything becoming lost on the smaller page size.
